Cleaning up litter and spent fireworks after the holiday will help keep pollutants out of our local waterways and green spaces. Join neighbors and fellow volunteers for a fun way to celebrate sustainably and give back to our community.
Keep Omaha Beautiful, Volunteer in Parks, and Blue Bucket Project will host multiple cleanup opportunities the weeks before and after the Fourth of July holiday. Lead your own satellite cleanup in a city park! Contact the City of Omaha's Volunteer in Parks program to check out litter supply kits between June 29 through July 2.

Join the Blue Bucket Project for two cleanup opportunities at Hanscom Park!
(1) On Sunday, July 5, 2026 from 1:30pm to 2:30pm (weather permitting), join the Blue Bucket Project and fellow volunteers to help clean up litter in Hanscom Park and surrounding neighborhoods. Meet at the Hanscom Park Pavilion (3201 Woolworth Ave). Supplies will be provided.
(2) On Monday, July 6th between 9am-5pm, the BBP will set up a Pop-Up Pick-Up station by the Hanscom Park picnic shelter area. Anyone who'd like to pick up litter on their own may stop by. A sandwich board has instructions for using the kits.

Sign up to volunteer with Keep Omaha Beautiful!
Choose from select dates to cleanup fireworks litter in various neighborhoods and public areas around the 4th of July holiday. Check out litter supplies from the KOB office (1819 Farnam Street, Suite 306) or pickup supplies from one of our offsite locations.
Community Cleanup Events will be hosted independently by: Keep Omaha Beautiful, Volunteer in Parks, and the Blue Bucket Project. Help spread the word and bring your friends!
