New for 2026, the City of Omaha will host a series of three tire collection events held separately from its traditional spring and fall neighborhood cleanup events. For detailed information, visit Tires.Wasteline.org. Tire collection is open to all City of Omaha households at no cost. Restrictions apply and rims must be removed. There is a maximum limit of sixteen tires per vehicle, per day. (Note: Must be a Nebraska-plated vehicle delivering tires.) Only residential tires are accepted; tires from businesses prohibited. Residents are responsible for unloading their own vehicles, as no assistance will be provided.

“Seasons of Play” is a professional development and training workshop for early childhood educators. We will meet seasonally to help you bring fresh, meaningful nature play to your early childhood programs. Each session highlights simple, inspiring ways to engage children with the natural world using seasonal opportunities and everyday materials. Explore playful, developmentally supportive ideas that work in a variety of settings—indoors and outdoors. Join us as we discover how the changing seasons can spark curiosity, creativity, and joyful learning all year long.

Register to attend the date(s) that work best for you! If you can’t make it to a live session, you can still sign up to receive a recording. Each session highlights simple, inspiring ways to help children engage with the natural world using seasonal opportunities and everyday materials. There is no cost to attend, but advance registration is required.

Help make World O! Water 2026 an event to remember! There are multiple volunteer shifts available. The World O! Water festival is an event for all ages to explore science and water conservation activities. World O! Water runs from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM, with some shifts starting as early as 10:30 AM. Sign up today and select a position that best suits your interests, such as an education assistant, lunch volunteer, event set-up, or tear-down assistant. Enjoy the festivities before and after your shift, and grab a free hot dog lunch (while supplies last).

World O! Water is a free, annual festival that provides a fun way to learn about the importance of water conservation from experts in the field. Attendees will enjoy dozens of educational activities and demonstrations, a free hotdog lunch (while supplies last), live music, games, and much more! All ages are welcome.

Celebrate America Recycles Day with small actions that lead to big impact! Each year on November 15, America Recycles Day promotes awareness of the ways recycling helps us reduce waste, save energy, and conserve precious resources.
