Keep Omaha Beautiful is currently underway with a phased, citywide study to examine litter-pollution data and the community’s needs surrounding litter pollution prevention. This study will analyze data from litter collected throughout Omaha, and incorporate feedback from community members. The aim is to identify the root causes of litter pollution, engage the community, and outline targeted solutions for ‘litter hotspots.’ These analysis efforts will provide data-driven, community-focused insights as well as targeted solutions for reducing litter pollution - and its negative effects on our urban ecosystem.
2026 UPDATE: Phase I is now complete, and Phase II is in progress to be complete by the end of the year.
About the Study
*Keep Omaha Beautiful plans to revisit each phase of the study over multiple years to make continuous improvements, ensure the effectiveness of solutions, identify further resources needed, and continue to address community needs.
